A very neat business had my commercial photography service of Google Business Photos done.  This is Glazed Expectations, and they let you pick a ceramic item and paint it.  The resulting item is dishwasher safe and is safe for food to be served on.  The finished products look very nice and unique!  Give it a try, you will cherish the item you come away with!
